Custom business apps and internal systems

Bring the idea. Leave with a blueprint you can judge.

You do not need a technical specification. We learn how the work happens, research the right solution and design the workflow, screens and connections before presenting a scoped build quote. You decide whether it should go ahead. Based in Durbanville, Cape Town, building for businesses across South Africa.

  • Timeline: Scoped per build, typically 3 to 6 weeks
  • No lock-in contracts
How a build moves

Idea to working software, in four visible steps.

  1. 01 Idea What feels slow, scattered or impossible to see today.
  2. 02 Blueprint The workflow, the screens, the connections, the phases and a scoped quote.
  3. 03 Build Delivered in phases you can open, use and comment on.
  4. 04 Improve Optional support once it is live and in daily use.
What we handle
  • CRM, project, team and specialist workflow apps
  • Document libraries, PDF generation and client portals
  • Email, real-time data and existing-tool integrations
  • Research, blueprint, documentation and handover

Best fit: Businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and copy-paste between tools.

Investment

Scoped per build on a call. No off-the-shelf number, because it is not an off-the-shelf product.

Ranges are indicative in ZAR and confirmed after a scoping conversation. Once-off and monthly amounts are always quoted separately. No VAT is charged; KM Digital Solutions is not currently a registered VAT vendor.

This work is scoped per business on a discovery call rather than estimated online.

How it runs

Our approach

01

Learn the business

We map how the work happens today: people, decisions, documents, tools and lost time.

02

Research and scope

We test assumptions and separate the essential first version from ideas that can wait.

03

Blueprint and quote

We present the screens, workflow, information structure, phases and a scoped quote.

04

Decide together

Approve the build, refine the plan or stop there. The decision rests on something readable.

05

Build and improve

We release software in clear phases, test it with real users, document it and improve it.

Proof we live with

We run our own agency on systems we built ourselves: task management, client records, billing, approvals and reporting in one private, login-protected application, plus a property inspection product currently in pilot with a founding property partner. When a business wants the same leverage, we scope a system around how it actually runs. Some clients call this a business operating system; we sometimes shorten that to AIOS. The name matters less than the outcome: less admin, fewer dropped balls, and information where you need it.

Scoped by application. We take on a limited number of system builds at a time so each one gets founder attention.

Before you ask

Questions we get asked

Straight answers

What is a discovery and blueprint, and why start there?

It is a paid planning phase that turns an idea into something you can actually judge. We map how the work runs today, agree what the first useful version has to do, and write it up as screens, data and phases with a build quote attached. You leave with a document you own, whether or not we go on to build it.

How long does a build take?

The blueprint takes a couple of weeks. The build depends entirely on what that blueprint says, and it is delivered in phases so you see something working early rather than waiting months for everything at once. Most engagements run three to six weeks per phase, and the quote names the phases before anything starts.

What do you need from us?

Time with the people who do the work today, not only the person who signs it off. Whatever you use now counts, even if it is a spreadsheet and a group chat, because that is the real specification. After that we need one decision maker who can approve each phase as it lands.

Who owns the software once it is finished?

You do. The code, the data and the accounts are yours, and the repository and hosting details are handed over at the end. We are not building you a subscription you can never leave.

How is the work quoted?

Planning is a fixed fee of R15,000 to R20,000 once-off, and it is the only number anyone can quote honestly before the work is understood. The build is priced after the blueprint exists, when the screens, the data and the phases are on paper. If you decide not to build, the blueprint is still yours to take anywhere.
