Systems & Apps

Software shaped around the way your business actually works.

Start with a fundamental idea, not a technical brief. We research the work, map the workflow and turn it into a readable blueprint with a scoped quote. You decide whether the build should go ahead.

A USEFUL FIRST BRIEF INPUT

“Our team needs one place to track every job, attach the right documents, see what is late and email the client when the status changes.”

  • 01 What needs to happen?
  • 02 Who needs to use it?
  • 03 What information should connect?
Possible starting points

The category matters less than the work it makes easier.

A useful app can be a full operating system or one focused tool. These examples show the range, not a fixed menu.

01 Sales & relationships

CRM & lead app

A clear pipeline, owned follow-ups, client history and email activity in one place.

02 Knowledge & records

Document & PDF hub

Searchable files connected to the right client, project or asset, with consistent report generation.

03 Delivery & operations

Project & team hub

Tasks, deadlines, notes, approvals and workload without rebuilding the same spreadsheet every week.

04 Mobile workflows

Field & inspection app

Phone-first checklists, photos, signatures and reports for work that happens away from a desk.

05 Specialist workflows

Quantity surveyor workspace

Measurements, variations, costs, documents and reporting organised around the project lifecycle.

06 Built around you

Your own operational idea

A system does not need an existing category. If the process is real, we can investigate the right shape.

What the app can connect

Keep the tools that work. Connect the gaps between them.

The app can become the clear working layer across your existing information. The blueprint identifies what should connect, what should stay separate and where a person must remain in control.

Your journey with us

From “what if?” to a blueprint you can judge.

You do not have to arrive with the answers. Our job is to ask the useful questions, make the workflow visible and give you enough clarity to make a confident decision.

01 / 05 Learn
  1. 01 Understand the real work

    Learn

We learn how the business works today: the people, documents, decisions, handovers, tools and repeated frustrations.

What you leave withShared problem map

  2. 02 Research what the solution needs

    Discover

We test assumptions, separate must-haves from nice-to-haves, review integrations and identify the smallest useful first version.

What you leave withRequirements & priorities

  3. 03 Make the invisible visible

    Blueprint

We lay out the screens, workflow, information structure, connections, delivery phases and the reasoning behind them.

What you leave withApp blueprint & scoped quote

  4. 04 A clear yes, no or refinement

    Decide

You review a concrete plan rather than an abstract promise. If it is right, we agree the build. If not, we refine or stop there.

What you leave withInformed build decision

  5. 05 Release useful software early

    Build & improve

We build in clear phases, test with the people who use it, document it and improve the system as the business learns.

What you leave withWorking, owned system

The blueprint is the decision point. It turns an early idea into something you can read, question and price.

Before you ask

Questions we get asked about custom software

Straight answers

What does a custom app cost?

The planning phase is a fixed fee of R15,000 to R20,000 once-off, and it is the only number anyone can honestly quote before the work is understood. The build is priced after the blueprint exists, when the screens, the data and the phases are on paper. Splitting it that way means you are never asked to approve a build price that was invented before the thinking was done.

Can you take over what we currently run on spreadsheets?

That is usually where these projects start. A spreadsheet is a perfectly good specification: it shows exactly what your business tracks and where people are working around it. We map what the sheet already does, keep the parts that work, and rebuild the rest as a proper system with permissions, history and a search box.

Who owns the software once it is built?

You do. The code, the data and the accounts are in your name, and the repository and hosting access are handed over at the end of the build. If you ever want a different developer to take it further, nothing in the arrangement stops you.

How long does a build take?

It depends on what the blueprint says, which is exactly why we do not quote a timeline before there is one. Builds run in phases so something useful is in your hands early rather than everything arriving at the end, and each phase carries its own dates, agreed in writing before it starts.

What happens if we say no after the blueprint?

You keep the blueprint. You have paid for it and it belongs to you, including the screens, the data structure and the phase plan. There is no obligation to build with us afterwards, and you are free to take it to another developer or leave it on the shelf until the timing is better.
